A Protein-Packed Treat For Busy School Days

Thank you House Foods for sponsoring this post.

I never understood the challenge and stress that comes with busy school days, until I had to do it myself. Getting out of the door and to school on time is brutal. In all honesty, it feels like I put in a full day’s work by 8:30 a.m. The struggle is real folks! After a few years of fine-tuning our morning routines to make getting out of the door easier, the challenge of getting homework done with two kids the same age was thrown our way.

So as we all get ready to head back to school, I searched for ways to easily nourish my kids both in the mornings and while we get homework finished in the afternoons.

In an effort to instill healthy eating habits and encourage our kids to try new foods, we have experimented in the kitchen and added a little creativity to our everyday recipes.

We started getting creative in the kitchen and experimenting with House Foods tofu thanks to our discovery of Melissa Rauch’s children’s e-book The Tales of Tofu from House Foods. She partnered with House Foods to create something that would help children and families eat healthier by introducing kids to less familiar, but oh-so-good for you foods. You can download a FREE digital copy of the e-book, Tales of Tofu from House Foods, using this link here. My kids are excited and encouraged to try new foods thanks to the ebook’s protagonist, Little Tofu.

Our favorite recipe that has been a lifesaver on busy school days is the Strawberry Papaya Tofu Smoothie. Now, wait…I know what you’re thinking! Tofu in a smoothie?

I’m not crazy. Adding House Foods Soft Tofu to a smoothie is a great way to pack it with protein (without really changing the flavor or texture) and a great way to feed your family a plant-based treat!

So are you ready to blow your children away with a protein-packed treat on your busy school days?

House Foods Strawberry Papaya Tofu Smoothie:
